Senior Childcare Worker

Dorset Council is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for passionate childcare professionals to join the team at Blandford Nursery. As we embark on an ambitious journey to integrate our childcare provision with Archbishop Wake C of E Primary School, we are looking for dedicated individuals to help us provide exceptional early education and care, enabling children to achieve beyond their expectations. Our nursery is welcoming, compassionate, and focused on high standards. 

The role 

As a Senior Childcare Worker, you will be already qualified to a minimum early years level 3.  You will hold a crucial leadership role in primarily nurturing our youngest children in the nursery and occasionally the older children in Oscars, fostering a love for learning, and supporting the holistic development of our children as a childcare professional. 

Key Responsibilities include: 

• collaborating with the Childcare Manager to plan the curriculum to meet the needs of all children 
• supporting the development and training of other staff members 
• role modelling high-quality day care provision to other childcare staff 
• leading on the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework 
• leading on the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures to support the welfare of children. 

Supervision and Management: 

• reporting to the Childcare Supervisor/Manager 
• providing leadership and management to the Childcare Workers and Childcare Assistants  
• support the induction, training, and supervision of team members.
