Ee are seeking a dedicated Housing Caseworker to join our busy, frontline service. Our team works tirelessly to support households who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Key Responsibilities: As a Housing Officer, you will address a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:
- Assessing duties under the Housing Act 1996.
- Making decisions in line with the housing legislation.
- Advising on tenants' rights and occupation.
- Assisting with benefit eligibility and claims.
- Managing rent or mortgage arrears and providing advice.
- Providing debt management support and advice.
- Supporting individuals at risk of violence or abuse.
- Securing accommodation in the private rented sector.
- For customers owed a duty under homeless legislation, you will assess their needs and create Personal Housing Plans to address their situations.
Relationship Builder: Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with colleagues, landlords, and various agencies.
Customer Focused: Adapt your communication style to provide specialist advice to a diverse range of people and organizations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Multitasker: Handle diverse cases efficiently, requiring an understanding of homelessness legislation and other statutory sources.
