Bearwood Primary & Nursery School
We are a one form entry school taking pupils from Reception through to Year 6. Our vision is 'Learning, Enjoying, Succeeding Together' and it is at the heart of all that we do.
Our aim to be a thriving learning community is displayed through our curriculum and our vibrant learning environment. Our school offers a curriculum which motivates and inspires our children to become successful life long learners. Our curriculum has been designed to ensure that both skills and knowledge are built upon throughout each year group from EYFS to Year 6.
Through our Bearwood Goals: Ambitious Achiever, Confident Communicator, Independent Learner and Global Citizen, our children have the opportunity to excel in all areas including their spiritual, academic, physical and emotional development. Our Bearwood Goals are underpinned by values, one of which is RESPECT. Respect for ourselves, each other and the world around us - this is an important part of our daily school life. We want every child to reach their full potential in all areas of school life knowing they are cared for and supported by a mutually supportive partnership between home, school and the wider community.
We pride ourselves on being a caring, open school and we will always listen.
Our staff are amazing. We are lucky to be a part of the Hamwic Education Trust, a team of a large number of schools across BCP and Southampton including the very helpful and supportive manged services. With such a vast number of staff, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that we are able to gain from, with plenty of opportunities to develop oneself if you want to.
The Hillary Trust Partnership
The Hillary Trust is part of an umbrella Trust called the Hamwic Education Trust. At the Hamwic Education Trust we offer unique opportunities for those individuals that excel in education.
We aim to deliver an outstanding education to our pupils and to do so we must employ outstanding people. We offer a training pathway for all employees including teachers, support staff and our middle and senior leaders.
Our staff have opportunities to work on cross phase projects and to work in other schools within the Trust in order to gain invaluable experience and enhance their skills.
