What you can expect to be doing:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Interim Principal Lead for Best Education for All who will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Education Strategy for children and young people in Dorset to receive the best education. This role provides strategic leadership, development, and supervision for the work of all those in localities with a teaching qualification.
Working with central and locality teams the role provides key strategic direction for educational provision, school standards and improvement. This is a great opportunity to work on a fixed term 6 month contract, shaping the future of education in Dorset.
You will be responsible for providing tactical leadership to the Council’s school standards and improvement model to promote inclusion and high standards in the Dorset education system through the Education Challenge Leads.
In this role you will drive improvement and development work in Dorset through collaboration and a “One Team Dorset” approach to working in localities and across localities.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strategic thinker and a natural leader. You will have a proven track record of managing services, implementing policies and developing effective strategies that deliver outstanding results. You will be a great communicator, able to build positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts, including governors and headteachers.
This role requires someone who is adaptable, able to work within frequently changing circumstances and conflicting priorities with the responsibility to change the priorities of others. You will be able to work under pressure, manage conflicting demands and tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a positive and solution-focused attitude.
