About the role

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our wonderful team at our Beaucroft School Site. We envisage the successful person being placed in our Early Years department to support lunchtime in the classrooms with our Reception - Year One aged children. However, the successful candidate needs to be flexible as the staffing needs of Beaucroft are changeable and may mean you are needed elsewhere in the school and/or college sites.

The role is being offered on a 10 hour per week basis, 11.35am - 1.35pm Monday to Friday, term time only.

The role involves:
  • Supporting children while eating their lunches in the classroom
  • Supporting children during play time after their meal
  • Ensuring the safety, general welfare and needs of the children in the classroom, alongside the Teacher and Teaching Assistant's
  • Working closely with the children and staff within the Department, getting to know them really well
  • General cleaning and other duties as required
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in our exceptional school. Working with our children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is extremely rewarding. Many of our Midday Supervisors progress in their role by offering extra working hours supporting the Teachers and TA's outside of the lunchtime hours, if you are looking for a role that could lead to becoming a TA.

The salary offered is based on Dorset Job Evaluation Grade 2, Spinal Column Point 2 to 3.

This position will be filled on a rolling recruitment and appointment basis. We reserve the right to withdraw the advertised role at any point when the position has successfully been filled. Therefore, if you wish to apply, please ensure that you complete and submit an application via the Dorset Council Jobs 'Apply Now' icon/link at your earliest opportunity.

This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (2013 and 2020)) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’, so they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. The MOJ’s guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975, provides information about which convictions must be declared during job applications and related exceptions and further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Beaucroft School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
