About the role

 
 

Teaching Assistant

Permanent - Required asap

XS 10.4 Grade 5 (£12.85 per hour minimum starting salary)

30 hours per week – Term time only 8:35am – 3:20pm

(less 15min morning break and 30min lunch)

 

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a permanent contract for 30 hours per week, starting from February 2025.

The prime responsibility will be to provide class-based learning support for children in EYFS and KS1.  There will also be a significant element of supporting children with additional needs and delivering high quality small group and 1:1 interventions in order to support individual pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

Please note that supervising children at lunchtime is also a key requirement of the role.

You must have a genuine interest in working with children and entering the education profession. You will have lots of energy, resilience, be keen to learn and willing to have a go. We would welcome any specialist skills such as music, art, drama, dance or sport etc as we would work with you to ensure you get the opportunity to develop these with our children.  We would also welcome applications from recent school leavers or graduates who may be interested in pursuing a career in teaching. Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
