About the role

20 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a Parent Link Officer who will assist our senior leadership team in engaging with our families. Supporting parents to help their children achieve their full potential will be a key part of the role. We are looking for someone who has preferably had some experience of working with families, parents or children; although this experience does not necessarily have to have been in a school setting.

The contract is for a fixed term position for 20 hours per week, term time only, initially until July 2026. There is the potential for increasing these hours, as the role evolves.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dynamic and confident; having the initiative to take on a brand new role and work with the senior leadership team to evolve new practice and support for parents. A key area will be monitoring school attendance and building strong links between home and school.

This is an exciting time to join our fantastic team at Wyke, supporting children to thrive in their learning and to be part of a dedicated staff team. This role covers our Federation consisting of Wyke Regis Infants School and Nursery and Wyke Regis CE Junior School.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education

Wyke Regis Primary Federation will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
