About the role

This role is essential to the support being provided to our rough sleeper cohort who are being accommodated in specialist accommodation across the Dorset Council conurbation. 
 
The post holder will proactively work with our rough sleeper cohort to:
  • Maintain existing tenancies in our specialist accommodation
  • Work with our clients to ensure they are engaging with appropriate services to help them live a healthy and meaningful life within society
  • Explore volunteering and employment opportunities
  • Promote a healthy lifestyle
  • Work alongside other agencies such as Julian's House, The Bus Shelter and Shelter to best support our most vulnerable clients navigate the housing pathways
  • Work reactively and proactively to emerging concerns or problems
  • Work alongside the Accommodation Team
The post holder will be supported and encouraged to work collaboratively amongst their peers and wider contacts. Being able to sensitively but tenaciously work with our rough sleeper cohort will bring a sense of job satisfaction and positive outcomes to all involved. The post holder will need to be pro-active and reactive to a changing priority of work and the ability to work quickly to changing demands day to day. 
 
The post holder will be expected to work with a number of organisations, including:
  • Voluntary agencies
  • Mental health services
  • Probation
  • Police
  • Other internal departments
  • Housing Officers
  • Accommodation Officers
  • Housing Finance Team
  • Charities

Further Information

This is a full time role at 37 hours per week.

This role is fixed term until 31st March 2026

This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
