We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, dedicated Teaching Assistant’s to support students in both our specialist provision ASC BASE and within the classroom, with their learning needs across the school. You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students who find learning and communicating a challenge, in the classroom as well as during intervention groups.
Our ASC Base is a provision which supports x12 students, who are fully integrated into our mainstream school alongside their peers. These students are offered additional resources, intervention and at times different spaces to work as needed, in order to help them to succeed in our school.
For the Base we are looking for someone who:
- Has SEN experience/knowledge. Has experience with non-verbal students and is knowledgeable and has experience in how to support children who demonstrate some challenging behaviour and who have complex needs including communication needs. Someone who Is confident to work with specific sensory difficulties, special educational needs, specifically autism and associated difficulties.
For the Classroom we are looking for someone who
- Is enthusiastic and dedicated, with a passion for working with pupils who require additional support with their education. Someone who has experience in engaging with students who demonstrate behaviour and communication needs, with a strong background in English, Maths and SEND would be desirable but not essential.
Both roles are about aiding the Teacher to deliver the curriculum, were you will help children and young people to understand and access activities and overcome challenging behaviour, working with students, staff and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our students who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. You will play a key role in the school as we strive to further develop our learning support.
