Childcare Assistant

Fixed Term End date: 31/08/2022 (possibility to extend)

15 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a fun, friendly and caring childcare assistant to join our friendly team in supporting our nursery and early years team. You should have at least a level 3 qualification in childcare and qualifications in forest schooling would be desirable but not essential. This appointment will start as soon as possible in the autumn term 2021.

Duties will include:

  • Providing a happy and welcoming environment for the children; playing and engaging with the children, extending their ideas and capturing learning in the moment.
  • Getting out and about into our forest site and engaging in our forest school activities.
  • There will be some group led activities and knowledge of early phonics would be desirable.
  • Recording children’s progress on their online learning journeys– updating their journal with observations and linking them to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
  • Supervising children during mealtimes and toileting/ hygiene routines.
  • Forming friendly relationships with Parents, working alongside them to provide best support for their children’s development, maintaining confidentiality with any information shared.
  • Working as a part of the wider school team to ensure progression throughout each child’s early education experience.
