Welcome Back Fund Programme Co-ordinator (Internal Applicants Only)

Fixed term until 31 March 2022 - 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a short-term secondment to the Growth and Economic Regeneration Team, within the Place Directorate at Dorset Council. This opportunity is for internal applicants only.

The team are involved in project which supports local businesses, sector groups and help develop the local economy.

The secondment is fixed term until 31 March 2022 to work on the Welcome Back Fund. Dorset Council has been awarded over £0.55m for the Welcome Back Fund from HM Government and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). 

What you will be doing

The Welcome Back Fund Programme Co-ordinator will be responsible for running this programme, which is to be completed by end March 2022. Activities of the post include:

  • Delivery and co-ordination of activities under the Welcome Back Fund, including some aspects of procurement
  • Budget monitoring and management
  • Management of claims and quarterly reporting, including co-ordinating response to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities audit requests in a timely manor
  • Project development activities
  • Some location or site visits for project monitoring and project development work

The Welcome Back Fund Co-ordinator will also be the Council's main point of contact with Dorset Council's Contract Manager at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

About you

This is a great opportunity to work on an interesting project and to gain knowledge of the Growth and Economic Regeneration team.

We are looking for an internal applicant who has, or is keen to develop, a broad knowledge of Dorset Council's services and who likes working with external partners. Additionally, you will undertake project development work on two projects to promote more vibrant town centre economies working with local Town Councils and Business Improvement Districts (BIDS).

Experience of project management and / or European programmes would be beneficial. As European finance is involved an ability to work on budgets and reports is also desirable.

This post is financed through the European Regional Development Fund.
