We are looking for an Accommodation Officer (Temporary Accommodation) to join our team. You will be contributing to the increasingly important work of the Councils Housing Solutions Service to place clients into Temporary Accommodation properties and to ensure that we deliver value for money through the effective management of this process.
What you will be doing
We are seeking to recruit an Accommodation Officer to join a dedicated Housing and Partnership Team. The main functions of the post is to manage the physical condition of the directly managed temporary accommodation so that it is in a permanent lettable state, conduct inspections, book repairs and maintenance as necessary, organise redecorations and ensure any communal areas are clean and safe. To arrange placements of clients, into temporary accommodation, including sourcing and arranging B&B placements. To control the councils liability, monitor Housing benefit payments, tackle antisocial behavior, pursue accommodation charge arrears, investigate suspected abandonment, eviction process, organize storage and disposal of former tenants possessions.
