Salary details: £ - £
Experienced Children’s Social Workers (Dorset)
Up to £39,880 (depending on level and experience)
It is an exciting time to join Dorset Children's Services as an experienced Social Worker. We have recently launched our new model of working - Dorset Children Thrive which will:
- Put children first
- Get it right first time
- Make services easy to access
- Develop our skilled and confident workforce
- Provide good quality and efficient services
- Measure success
As part of our new model we have developed multi-agency Locality teams bringing together colleagues from across Early Help, Children's Social Care, Educational Psychology, SEND and Inclusion services under the leadership of new Heads of Locality and Strategy.
Our Locality teams are based within 6 communities across Dorset - Chesil, West, Dorchester, Purbeck, East and North. As an experienced Social Worker working in the locality teams you will be supporting children and their families through assessment of their needs and planning at a child in need, child protection or care level to enable better outcomes.
Our approach to working with children and families is strengths based and restorative. We want our Social Workers to build relationships with children and their families to enable positive change. We are working on reducing caseloads to facilitate relationship building through direct work with children and families with purposeful and evidence based interventions.
The Locality model promotes collaborative working with our Early Help and Education colleagues. It also enables Social Workers to get to know their children, the communities within which they live and the partner agencies who are also able to support our families.
We are currently developing our Learning Academy to promote the Career Development of all of our Children’s Services workforce, and to provide access to up to date evidence based tools and research.
You must have a Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You must be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post. If you have completed your ASYE and/or have experience of working in statutory social care services we would like to hear from you.
