We offer roles across a range of services, which includes, locality teams, integrated learning disability teams, peripatetic team, transitions, specialist services – community mental health teams, safeguarding, substance misuse - and our Home First Teams supporting hospital discharge and the discharge to assess model. Locality offices are in Weymouth, Bridport, Dorchester, Sturminster Newton, Blandford Forum, Shaftesbury, Purbeck and Ferndown.
We are currently looking to recruit dynamic social workers, with a strong sense of person-centred practice who can use a strengths-based approach, across these services. You will need to be confident with the legal basis for practice and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 at interview.

You must have a degree in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.

Dorset Council requires all newly qualified social workers to undertake the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) and meet the expected standards during the ASYE period. The ASYE arrangements should normally apply to the appointment of all newly qualified social workers who qualified after September 2012 unless they can demonstrate that they already fully meet the standards laid out in the professional capabilities framework (PCF).
