Service Manager, Fairways Residential Care Home (Boscombe, Bournemouth)
Salary details: £41881 - £47710
Apprentice Digital Community Manager
Fixed Term 2.5 Years
There’s an opportunity to become part of the award-winning Digital Place team which will keep Dorset connected through the coming decades. The past year has shown how vital internet connections are to people’s life and work. Help us to equip residents with the digital skills they will need to make the most of it.
What you will be doing
We are recruiting and training 1,000 frontline staff to be embedded digital champions who can help residents overcome their digital challenges. You will be managing the online community where our recruits learn the skills to become champions.
Our platform will incorporate learning from great examples of champion networks around the country. You will help build the sections where recruits learn about the Dorset’s offline community and the benefits to us all if we can help them get online. You will develop links to existing online training courses for digital champions and develop new courses where necessary. You may deliver webinars and manage group events to engage recruits and give them the incentives to upskill themselves so they can pass on their learning more effectively to learners.
As an apprentice, you will have one day/week training to learn new skills which will help you in your role, becoming the team’s expert in online community management.
You will also have opportunities to support other Digital Place initiatives to help people cross the digital divide or learn new digital or technical skills. You might help manage our existing cohort of 70 volunteer digital champions or work on projects to improve the broadband network. We have a full programme of activities to promote Digital Dorset initiatives so you might be submitting an award entry for a digital project, contributing to the Digital Dorset social media accounts or preparing a presentation on our work for a national conference.
This role would suit a PR or communications graduate with a passion for developing online communities. You will be a great communicator both on- and offline, with plenty of energy and good organisational skills. You will be confident at delivering training material online to groups as well as an ability to engage individuals and develop learning pathways for them.
You will have experience of working remotely and be confident in using MS products such as MS Teams.
