Part-time hours will be considered for this role if requested.

What you can expect to be doing:

At the core of our customer transformation is to make services online so good that people prefer to use them. This helps to reduce council costs and improve customer satisfaction by delivering the kind of experiences people expect in the world we are in today.
You will take a user-centred and iterative approach to design excellent content that supports customer journeys. You will use evidence to do this, working closely with our partners and across the council, to have a positive impact on the people who rely on our services.
You will be responsible for leading on activity to understand user needs, gathering and analysing information to enable you to create and test out content ideas.
You will run collaborative design activities, building relationships, influencing others, and building consensus to create content that is accessible and simple to use, that help users complete their goal and get the service they need as quickly and easily as possible.

About you:

To develop your career with us and to deliver our vision to make Dorset a better place to live, work and visit, you will:
• put people first to write excellent content based on their needs
• understand the value of data, having experience of undertaking user research and analysing data to identify opportunities to improve services
• have experience of search engine optimisation
• listen to others to identify their needs and translate user stories to propose content to meet those needs and validate through testing and iteration
• have experience of working with groups of stakeholders and an ability to create a collaborative environment, building trust to design and implement new customer journeys
• be passionate about content design and digital change, and determined to make a difference
